Kiome Pope

I’m Kiome and my passion for working towards gender equitable research was sparked when I read Caroline Criado Perez’s book “Invisible Women”. It was like a lightbulb moment for me! I really started to notice things in my everyday life that weren’t working well for me, because they weren’t designed for me. Every time I go to fill my car up with petrol, I hate the fact that I end up having to hold it with two hands for comfort, because it’s simply not been designed for smaller hands!

My background is in Psychology, having completed my undergrad before joining the Human Factors Engineering Team until 2021. I am currently a Visitor at the University of Southampton for the School of Engineering.
