Iām Joy and I’m passionate about collecting meaningful demographics by asking the right questions in order to enable useful gender disaggregation. I am particularly interested in research in the areas of gender, sexuality and intersectionality and am currently working towards including intersectionality in transportation research.
I have a background in Archaeology and Art History specialising in non-binary gender. I have previously worked in the field of learning centres (libraries and IT), teaching and health research before moving to my current position as Specialist Technician in the Human Factors Engineering Team within the Transportation Research Group providing support to various road safety and sustainability projects.
